Favorite TV Shows?
Stargate Atlantis, Stargate SG-1, Doctor Who, Buffy, Angel, Firefly, Extreme Ghostbusters, Gargoyles, Moonlight (sigh, stoopid CBS for cancelling it), Reaper, Pushing Daisies, Eli Stone, Star Trek (all the franchise), I've recently started gettng into BSG (I love Baltar!!) ... You know, I really could go onbe for quite a while, so let's just stop here. XD
What inspires you to draw?
Music, oddly enough. Every peice I create, be it drawn or written, I do with a soundtrack in mind, and I am often inspired by song lyrics. And powerful imagery -- I'm often inclined to render favourite scene from books or try to copy captivating momebnts form TV shows or photographs. Colour, and light and shadow, inspire me to mimick them. And then sometimes my muses just throw an idea at me, something I just have to get out of my head -- usually at the worst time ....
Which is your favorite Season 1, Season 2, Season 3, and Season 4 episode?
Hmm. Season 1: "Hide and Seek". Season 2: "Duet", with "Grace Under Pressure" as a close second. Season 3: "Tao of Rodney" (which is still my fave ep period), although "McKay & Mrs Miller" is a close second, and "Sunday" a close third. Season 4: "Miller's Crossing" tied with "Doppelganger", but I adored that season overall, especially "Tabula Rasa", "Trio", "Harmony", "Adift", "Quarantine," and "The Last Man". Basically any ep with a good McSheppy moment has me sold. Or some good McKay whump!
What are your fave shippings?
McKay/Sheppard, Daniel/Vala, Jack/Sam, Buffy/Spike, Wesley/Fred(and, later, Welsey/Illyria), Kylie/Eduardo (Extreme Ghostbusters), Rose/9(/Jack), MickBeth(/Josef, Moonlight), Ron/Hermione, Harry/Ginny (as well as Harry/Draco), Mulcer/Scully, Peter/MJ, and now "Pepperony" (Tonmy/Pepper, Iron Man), just to name the most prominent ones ...
What advice do you have for those other artists out there?
Google is your friend. If you want to draw something, use google to find photo references, especially in regards to pose/anatomy. ... Pay attention to lighting -- lighting is intuitive for the audience, and incorrect lighting can make or break the believability of a piece. ... Photoshop is your friend -- especially if you have a copy of "MAC's remove white" filter (no, it's not Macintosh-specific -- I have a PC). ... Get a WACOM tablet. I have a cheap $100 one, which came with Photoshop Elements, and it works brilliantly -- it takes a while to get used to it, but it was well worth every penny!
Which is your favorite Rodney moment?
OMG, that's a hard question!! XD Uh, I guess when he insisted Sheppard let him sacrifice himself to save Jeannie ...
How long have you been watching Stargate Atlantis?
Regulalry? Since May of 2007, although I caught it in passing before that. "Tao" was the ep that hooked me.
How long have you been drawing?
I know for sure since I was 6, although I suspect before that even .... By my senior year of high school, I spent 5 hours a day in the art room! XD ....
